The Government will request a fifth extension of the state of alarm that intends to be the last and will last until the end of the de-escalation. This was announced by Pedro Sánchez during his appearance from Moncloa this Saturday.
Sánchez has pointed out that Health will be from that moment the only command reference, with Defense, Interior and Transport taking a step backwards.
The Prime Minister has also recalled that the negotiations for this extension continue to take place and has defended that, so far, "The alarm state has worked at all levels."
The Prime Minister estimates that, if he had not limited the movements, 300,000 Spaniards with 30 million infected would have already died. "Possibly more," he added. "The infection is very uneven in the territory, only 5% on average have been infected and the case fatality rate is 1%," Sánchez continued.
From the seroprevalence study, Sánchez has highlighted three data: "On the one hand, that the infection has very unevenly affected the territories, on the other, that only 5% on average have been infected with covid-19 and, finally, that the real lethality is around 1% "
